Why Worship?
Worship is the first purpose of your life. When Jesus was asked what the greatest commandment was he replied. “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and mind and soul and strength”. At Country & Town we strive to model, encourage and equip our people to worship God in that way. We invite all to participate actively in worship each week with the understanding that it is just the kick-off for a week of worshiping God with our lives.
Opportunities to Serve for Adults and Youth
Worship Choir
Worship Choir is a dynamic part of our worship experiences. We sing regularly in our Traditional service and at times in our Contemporary service. We sing everything from classic choral anthems to modern choral settings of worship songs that are intended to draw us closer to God through our worship. The Worship Choir meets each Wednesday evening from 6:15 to 7:30 in the Music Suite. The choir combines their voices, with other vocalists (“Seasonal Singers”) from the church for Christmas & Easter presentations and other special occasions. The choir is open to youth (grade 9 +) and adults, with no previous experience is necessary. Guests and visitors are always welcome to come and experience a rehearsal to see if this is for you.
Worship Team
Teams of instrumentalists and vocalists provide music leadership in our Contemporary Worship Service. If you play guitar, bass, percussion, keyboards etc… or if you are a confident vocalist, contact Pastor Phil Cockrell to learn more about participating with a team. Older youth may participate with the worship team as invited by team leadership.
Hand Bell Choir
Our active handbell choir plays regularly in our worship services and in community settings as possible. The atmosphere of teamwork develops a close fellowship, and this special form of instrumental ensemble offers its members unique opportunities for ministry and praise. Rehearsals are Sunday evenings at 4:45 in the Music Suite. No previous handbell experience is necessary; However, the ability to read music is important.
Technical Arts: Audio/Projection/Lighting/Cameras
If you enjoy behind the scene service, the technical arts area of ministry may be perfect for you.
Audio includes running mixing boards for Front of House and/or Live Stream sound. You do not need to be an expert sound engineer to volunteer (though we'd love to have someone with those gifts) but a good ear for music is a must. We offer solid online and hands on training for our audio volunteers.
Projection is provided in all of our services as lyrics, scripture, videos, etc... help engage our people in worship. We use Proclaim as our projection software...and it is easy to learn. You do not need to be a computer wiz to effectively serve in this area. Hands on training provided.
Lighting in worship helps our folks to see and assists in setting an atmosphere that allows us to focus our attention on God as we worship together. As always, training is provided.
Camera operators for our Live Stream help to give smooth transitions and clear visuals for those who join us online. Attention to detail is important and training is provided.
